The process of Elba Esther Gordillo, one of the most infamous politician and leader of Teacher syndicate, was put in jail after a many years of corruption. This action was seeking the legitimation of PRI return. The foreign bank accounts and the properties were confiscated during this administration, however, in 2018, with the regime change, Gordillo charges were dismissed and all get back to normal for her.
Other case is the Joaquin “Chapo” Guzman one. All the process was like to watch a Hollywood movie. Arrested, escaped through a tunnel, arrested again and extradited to United States to be find guilty. This episode is one of the most successful and embarrassing moments of Peña’s presidency.
